2022 Transfer Station Sticker Price Set

The Portsmouth Town Council has set the sticker price for annual access to the Hedly Street and Prudence Island Transfer Stations for 2022 for residents who opt to use these facilities. Transfer Station stickers will cost $210 for the first vehicle per household and $10 for one additional vehicle per household.

2022 Stickers are Available Beginning January 3, 2022

Stickers will be available for sale at the Tax Collector’s office at Portsmouth Town Hall beginning January 3, 2022 during normal business hours, which are Monday through Wednesday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Last year’s Transfer Station sticker will provide entry into the Transfer Station until the end of January 2022.

PAYT, Recycling and Diversion

The Town continues the pay-as-you-throw (PAYT) program used in conjunction with its Transfer Station.  All residential household waste must be disposed of in specially-marked Town-approved bags residents purchase at area stores.  Recycling is disposed of free of charge. Yard waste drop-off is available March 15 – December 31 and is also free of charge. The Hedly Street Transfer Station offers a wide variety of diversion bins to dispose of various household items, most of which are free.
